this project explores the relationship between past and present by merging archival photographs of family members and the artist with contemporary images of places that remain personally significant to jones. created in 2023, the work combines physical interaction with printed photographs and digital compositing, allowing historical images to exist within the present landscape. by revisiting locations that continue to hold meaning, the project reflects on memory, continuity and the way personal history is carried forward through place. the resulting images suggest that while time moves on, emotional connections to certain spaces endure, layering past experiences onto the present moment.
